If you are a Finance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson Automation Solutions has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Lexington, Kentucky location, you will supervise and oversee daily operations of the Accounting Team and ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, half-year and year-end close. 
 
AS THE FINANCE MANAGER, YOU WILL: 


  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information as assigned.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly management reports and financial statements as assigned.

  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives quarterly and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

  • Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.

  • Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.

  • Prepare and/or review general ledger journal entries for month-end close.

  • Prepare and/or review account analysis and reconciliations.

  • Daily management of project accounting system.

  • Fixed Asset and capital expenditure tracking and management.

  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all payment transactions.

  • Supports budget and forecasting activities.

  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.

  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.

  • Responds to inquiries from the Director, Finance and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.

  • Coordinates and completes annual audits to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit with support from the Director, Finance.

  • Coordinates and completes tax filings.

  • Provide and/or schedule training to new and existing staff as needed.

  • Handles personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • BA/BS in Accounting or a related field

  • Experience leading a team 

  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Experience with SAP is a plus

  • CPA preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High degree of competency in interpreting and applying accounting principles, practices, policies, and procedures
