Job Description:

In 1985, Koch Foods started as a one-room chicken de-boning and cutting operation with 13 employees. We’ve grown to be one of the top poultry processors in the U.S., but the core of who we are remains unchanged: a team that is adept, reliable and service oriented.

QA Supervisor Job Summary:

A Quality Assurance Supervisor within a poultry facility is primarily responsible for providing leadership and direction to department technicians, and managing daily operations while ensuring adherence to USDA and company quality and safety standards, in addition to meeting departmental goals and objectives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Supervise, and direct department employees (QA Lead and Technicians) ensuring safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance, while producing quality product

  • Responsible for staffing, and continuous improvement of department

  • Manage, train, coach, lead, and supervise all department staff

  • Assist in preparation and execution of customer, corporate, and third party audits

  • Control cost and manage resources within established goals

  • Confer with other supervisors and shift leaders to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments, solving for quality issues

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory programs 

  • Perform regulatory document reviews ensuring completion and accuracy

  • Daily review of QA records ensuring QA programs are executed as written

  • All other relevant duties as required

Job Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED required, with Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science or related field preferred

  • 1 - 3 years’ supervisory experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in poultry or meat processing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English language skills (reading and writing) required

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills helpful but not required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient computer and analytical skills

  • Detail oriented

Physical/Environmental Factors:


  • Cold, damp, wet environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees

  • Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels

  • Climb stairs, frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, bend and lift various weights as needed

  • Exposure to strong, raw and foul odors
