If you are a Design Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary, collaborative design engineering team to develop and design Wireless solutions to solve our industrial customer’s most challenging problems.AS DESIGN ENGINEER, YOU WILL: 


  • Design Wireless transmitters from concept ideation to commercialization along with the electrical and software engineering organizations following a stage-gate style product development cycle
  • Prototype designs with the tools available to you (CAD (CREO), 3D-Printing, Machining, etc)
  • Analyze your designs using computation methods, such as FEA (ANSYS)
  • Write detailed test plans to test your designs and analyze results to ensure they meet product requirements (both from customers and regulatory agencies)
  • Complete engineering test reports to clearly explain test results
  • Create engineering documentation that clearly explains design intent
  • Coordinate with the procurement organization to ensure incoming product quality
  • Support the operations and quality organizations to ensure outgoing product quality
  • Work on continuous improvement projects to correct field issues or to improve existing product functionality via the Engineering Change Order Process

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 
  • 2+ years of applicable work experience 
  • Limited domestic & international travel required
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree is preferred
  • Experience with CREO for solid/surface modeling
  • Experience with ANSYS for FEA
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Experience with Polymer Injection Molded, Machined, Stamped, and Extruded Part Design
