Water & Sweeper Truck Operator at The Doe Run Company in Boss, Missouri

Job Description:

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Water & Sweeper Truck Operator to perform grounds housekeeping operations in order to maintain a safe, clean environment that meets environmental standards. This position is at The Buick Resource Recycling Facility in Boss, MO. Shift is Sunday - Thursday 7 AM - 3:30 PM (could change due to business needs).

Responsibilities:

• Operate a truck wash, water truck and a sweeper truck in order to spread water and sweep grounds.


• Ensure tire wash is operating properly.


• Perform minor maintenance on equipment.


• Fill in as necessary for Yard Equipment Operator; safely operate yard equipment and assist with cleanup.


• Perform pre-shift inspection of truck.


• Perform minor maintenance, including tightening, lubricating and cleaning equipment.


• Assist in other facility operations when air temperature is below freezing or raining.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• One year of experience operating a water truck, sweeper truck or something equivalent.


• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Mobile equipment certification.


• Environmental safety and health rules and regulations training.


• Valid, current driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of plant layout and traffic routes.


• Knowledge of fueling procedures.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, respirator, hearing protection and eyewear.


• Frequently exposed to vibration; occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme heat.


• Exposed to moderate noise levels.


• Regularly requires sitting, driving, and repetitive movement.


• Frequently requires grasping and reaching with hands/arms.


• Occasionally requires feeling attributes of objects.


• Requires clarity of vision, three-dimensional vision, the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, and precise hand-eye coordination.


• Regularly required to lift up to 15 pounds; frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
