Job Description:

The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.

The Assembler performs electrical and electromechanical assembly duties using engineering drawings and instructions under limited supervision. These include:


  • Assembles products to engineering specifications and drawings using tools provided


  • Use soldering irons, solder pots, and hand tools to perform work.


  • Assemble parts and perform tasks such as potting, encapsulation, epoxy bonding, sanding, and cleaning.


  • May assemble prototype units for engineering


  • Recommends solutions to assembly problems in regards to fixtures and tools.


  • Assists other assemblers with questions related to the assembly of our products


Required Skills:


  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • 1+ years of experience working with assembly in product development, automotive, or warehouse experience


  • Must pass qualification test upon completion of soldering training (certification to Mil-Std J-Std-001 soldering spec)


  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.


Desired Skills:


  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well on a team as well as alone


  • 3+ years as a production assembler/technician


  • High motivation and drive


  • Verbal and written communication skills.


  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques of electromechanical products


  • Capable to read engineering drawings including assembly drawings, schematics and engineering instructions


  • Experience in using basic manufacturing equipment, tools and gages such as: multimeters, torque and force gages, etc.


Physical Requirements:


  • Lifting and transport of units up to 30 lbs unassisted (about twice a week)


  • Willing to use soldering iron


  • Use of hands in a repetitive cycle


New Assembler employees will receive a $500 (before taxes) bonus - paid out after a positive 90 day review (must be in good standing). The candidate must have remained working/employed with Ultra.
