POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Business Development leads the Business Development team comprised of Business Development Managers. The Director of Business Development is responsible for reaching an overall revenue and bookings targets for the division. The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing business processes, translating sales strategies to actionable tactics to guide and coach the BDM's and sales team to reach their individual goals. The Director of Business Development should live the Evoqua culture and embrace the Enable, Empower and Accountable philosophy.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS (IDENTIFY UP TO 6 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES WITH ASSOCIATED JOB TASKS)


  • Team owns specific product revenue targets.
  • Develop sales strategies, support development of regional plans/budgets, supports forecasting activities, and provide performance analyses.
  • Assists VP/GM and Sales Director develop, refine, and deploy the commercial strategy, including target market assessments, competitive analysis, channel to market strategies, and the execution plans required to implement the strategy
  • Achieve targeted sales across team
  • Interface with customers, Sales/Operations, COE resources
  • Along with BDM's, provide training for Sales/Ops, prospecting/targeting support, represent at industry events and with engineering firms and influencers, provide technical support throughout the process and after-support.
  • Manages and leads BDM team.
  • Creates and develops C Suite industry connections and industry visibility

Organization Impact:

  • Works with upper management to set goals/objectives/targets for each division and geography.
  • Works with team to set their goals/objectives/targets

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (INFORMATION PROVIDED BELOW WILL BE USED IN THE JOB POSTING PROCESS)


  1. FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of business experience in a similar role within a similar industry (Oil & Gas is strongly preferred)


  1. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Strong knowledge of specific product line(s) and applications across applicable verticals.
  • Able to craft strategies and execute to win business.
  • Competent at strategic and value selling.
  • Strategic thinker, analytical, with ability to translate experience to customer challenges.
  • Able to lead team to deliver on their commitments
  • Possess the ability to interact and collaborate with intercompany work groups
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Products and CRM
  • Successful experience consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Committed to continuous education on industry trends and self-improvement (technology / leadership)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Must be willing and available to travel up to 40% nationally
