Overview:
Utilizes sound people management, technical problem solving, financial management and project management skills to direct Archrock's Applications Engineering and Contract Applications teams for both CS and AMS. Provides oversight to all project activities and ensures all work complies with Company and Industry standards, procedures and codes.
Essential Duties
-Directs personnel in formulating plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates in support of quotation development for potential solutions and provide the appropriate process of equipment selection(s).
-Proactively analyzes, identifies and implements improvements in equipment, processes and practices to control costs
and enhance productivity.
-Demonstrate leadership skills and identify, prioritize and resolve problems
Directs the Application Engineering team to:
- Troubleshoot issues on compression equipment
- Work through specifications with new packagers to make sure equipment purchases meet our standards
- Utilize various computer-assisted methods of performing design/selection methods and calculations
- Construct the appropriate technical reports and quotations utilizing Microsoft Windows-based computer tools
Directs the Application Engineering team to:
- Provide sales activity support to account managers
- Acquire legal and technical information required to complete commercial contract negotiations
- Create standard and complex contracts in compliance with company policy
- Liaise with the legal department to facilitate legal or commercial change requests to standard contracts; read and
comprehend detailed legal documents
- Provide training and information to internal and external customers regarding legal and commercial contracting
policies

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to:
- Perform all essential duties
- Demonstrate sound reasoning and analytical skills and high competency financial/sensitivity analysis

- Demonstrate the ability to represent the Company in a positive and professional manner
- Travel to Shops and Field locations as required
Knowledge:
- Broad knowledge of natural gas production and processing to ensure equipment is specified to meet the requirements of Customers and Archrock’s Field Operations
Minimum Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or greater than 10 years of compressor package experience
- Registered Professional Engineering certification is preferred
Minimum Experience:- 10 years of compressor package experience
- Experience leading technical teams and facilitating work across multiple functions
- Experience managing costs and budgets
Leadership:
- Participates in the development of functional strategy for the Applications Engineering and Contract Applications organization
- Develops operational strategies, objectives and plans needed to deliver results for assigned area and directs implementation of plans
- Manages organizational design and structure within assigned scope
- Ensures departmental budgets and high-quality forecasts are prepared and submitted accurately and on-time
- Responsible for performance management and employee development and ensures that team members have results-based objectives, timely performance reviews, and appropriate development plans
- Manages hire, fire, job and salary change actions per delegation of authority and required approvals

Problem Solving and Innovation:
- Analyzes performance data on an on-going basis and develops recovery plans as needed
- Makes decisions and resolves issues that are concerned with formulating programs for a function/project and allocating resources (facilities, people, money, materials) among these groups
- Finds immediate solutions to problems and solutions to resolve conflicts. Escalates as needed
- Implements preventative and corrective actions in a timely manner
- Expected to drive process improvements and to teach others to identify opportunities, provide ideas, methods and
innovations and to implement improvements to enhance safety, teamwork, efficiency and quality
Impact:
- Actions, judgement and overall performance directly impacts margin contribution, profitability and has a serious effect on the performance of the business
- Accountable for HSE performance, service quality, and customer satisfaction within area of responsibility
- Prepares budget for assigned area, manages to budget, reports variances and develops recovery plans as needed
- Responsible for standard of design for Make Ready and New build units which can have significant cost impact to the overall organization
