OMNI Engineering, a CRH company, started its business in 1985 in Omaha, Nebraska.  OMNI is involved in heavy highway construction as well as private and commercial site construction.  Its primary business involves the manufacture and placement of asphalt for roads, city streets and parking lots.  Currently, OMNI Engineering employs around 200 employees and remains a competitive force in the Omaha market.

Overview:

The Asphalt Paving Foreperson position is responsible for the daily planning, production, and safety of the asphalt paving crew. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the position is required to maintain consistent contact and teamwork with HMA plant and trucking manager to ensure efficient and accurate material delivery. The position reports directly to the Asphalt Paving Superintendent.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers


• Calculated and communicate trucking requirements and start time


• Accurate & timely quantity ordering


• Accurate & timely daily cost and quantity reporting


• Oversee progress and efficient utilization of crew and equipment


• Establish and maintain a working relationship with fellow managers


• Train new crew members


• Report any required equipment repairs


• Oversee proper equipment maintenance


• Maintain daily diary


• Provide safety leadership and guidance


• Ensure T5, TRACK, Toolbox Talks, and all other OMG safety policies engaged

Education and/or Experience:

• 5+ years paving experience


• 1+ years supervisory experience preferred


• Previous NDOR and City of Omaha experience is a plus


• Strong background in paver automation

• Microsoft Office environment applications
  
   

Physical Demands:

• Walking, standing, bending, lifting, and sitting


• Lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance


• Additional tasks and duties may be modified by management
