The Application Support Analysis works with the application development team, the customer care center support team, and business users to identify, research, and resolve core operational application systems issues and questions (order management, transportation management, reporting, etc.). Provides day to day support for internal applications, managing the resolution of application and system issues, and identifying opportunities to implement long-term solutions to common application issues.
Provides technical support across multiple applications to teams within the organization and to external clients, ensuring consistency with end user expectations and service level agreements, accurately resolving application support issues, and clearly communicating resolutions.
Manages support queues for order management, transportation management and the reporting systems, ensuring issues are addressed and resolved timely
Analyzes application issue trends and develops solutions to reduce or eliminate future occurrences.
Manages assigned tasks while juggling urgent requests as they arise. Provides regular verbal and written project communications/updates of status and issues. Identifies resource requirements and builds technical competencies as required externally to support application areas.
Develops and provides application reporting for teams across the business (IT, Operations and Logistics, 3PL Sales, Financial Operations, Program Management, Finance, Regulatory, etc.).
Manages and regularly reviews application problem logs and assists in prioritization of problem resolution. Reviews log files, system performance and system availability performance levels to plan capacity, tune performance and schedule system maintenance. Updates FAQs, knowledge scripts and technical training materials for support teams.
Develops and maintains extensive knowledge of self-help and technical resolution paths.
Performs additional duties as directed.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Security)
4 or more years of related application support experience, including SSRS and/or SQL Server experience
Experience with Ross ERP and JDA/Blue Yonder TMS/WMS preferred
Supply Chain and/or third party logistics application support experience preferred
Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated skill and confidence researching and resolving application support issues
Strong knowledge of SQL, database query tools, and basic database design concepts
Ability to listen and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to communicate with multiple audiences, including senior management, corporate and distribution center teammates
Ability to identify trends and apply critical thinking to develop long term solutions
Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive team member who welcomes challenges
Demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to make and act on decisions with limited information
Ability to identify opportunities that lead to operational improvements and/or savings
Self-starter with a sense of urgency, ability to work independently and in a team setting involving multiple departments, partners, and business processes
Knowledge of electronic data interchange (EDI), knowledge of ANSI X12 Standards, and industry exchanges such as UCCNet
Experience with EDI translators and mapping software (Gentran)
Experience with Data Integration or Enterprise Application Integration tools
Experience with standard and ad hoc reporting tools (Business Objects, Crystal Reports, and/or SQR Reports)
Knowledge of business, financial and ad hoc reporting tools (Business Objects, Crystal Reports, and/or SQR Reports)
Excellent documentation skills using tools like Visio
