Summary

Manage and plan production in order to meet production schedules, quality, and cost objectives through team leader staff and associates. Develop manpower requirements, identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action, and direct the performance of program functional task elements such as continuous improvement, quality assurance, safety, and training.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead and direct production through MRP planning to meet or exceed forecast and sales demand.
• Lead and direct our team with continuous improvement program, 5 S, and lean manufacturing.
• Create all work orders going to production, issue components to jobs, and complete all work orders correctly to drive inventory demands.
• Maintain or improve quality programs to assure conforming product to UL Standards.
• Coordinate and oversee training.
• Direct, assist, and evaluate associates.
• Monitor all inventory required for production and report discrepancies or requirements as needed.
• Conduct associate performance evaluations to recommend changes and/or increases.
• Conduct associate disciplinary action as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled production shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required to keep production working, to be present at work, arrive on time and be ready for work at the start of the shift.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Education and/or Experience: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience is direct, hands-on in manufacturing operations with prior leadership skills in a team-based manufacturing environment. Would be willing to train the right person with leadership skills.
• Other Requirements: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Develop strong communication, problem solving, supervisory, and human relation skills.
