John Crane Diamond (JCD) is looking for an experienced & versatile Facilities Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment. Summary


This position will coordinate and manage the facilities engineering program for John Crane Diamond's facility in Romeoville, IL by conducting specialized and complex engineering work in support of a diverse manufacturing facility.







Duties & Responsibilities



Specific Responsibilities



  • Refine and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for the facility including diamond deposition chambers operating at pressure ranges between millitorr and atmosphere, a gas delivery system, chemical wet lines, metrology equipment, chilled water system, and other support tools.

  • 5+ years of thin film, vacuum equipment experience.

  • Design and implement Installations and qualifications for new equipment.

  • Support production line expansions

  • Maintain and update vendor components list, purchase and manage inventory on all consumables associated with maintenance activities

  • Maintain contractor support for building electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general services.

  • Troubleshoot and quickly resolve issues leading to unscheduled downtime on all the equipment critical to the functionality of the facility.

  • Meet or exceed all KPIs related to maintenance activities including equipment uptime.

  • Maintain and control building conditions as well as over-all functionality which includes storage systems, ergonomics, general cleanliness, and safety.

  • Help identify waste and implement procedures to promote cost reductions throughout the organization.

  • Support product development activities as needed by aiding in modifications, fabrication, and general design input related to the overall facility and equipment within.

  • Help refine, implement, and train personnel on Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols in alignment with corporate policies.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field or equivalent from a technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Familiarity with vacuum or thin-film processing equipment is required.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, mechanical drawings, and schematics.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, co-workers, regulators, and customers.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Computer Skills To perform this job successfully an individual should be proficient in all standard Microsoft office applications,

  • Familiar with quality management systems, understand database structures, and the general functionality of material requirement planning.
