The Director, Value and Access is responsible for partnering and assisting in the development and execution of Market Access channel strategies and tactics to maximize patient access to therapy for in-line and pipeline assets across the specialty products business. Reporting to the Lead, Value and Access, Market Access, he/she works closely with a cross-functional group including Account Management, Brand Marketing and Sales, Patient Services & Reimbursement, Trade, Compliance, Legal, Business Analytics and external vendors among others. The position requires strong collaboration and the ability to drive cross-functional change both internally and externally.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the implementation of the Market Access strategic plan to meet customer and patient needs
Leads Value and Access cross-functional sub-teams to establish and execute Market Access Strategy
Supports and leads in the development of the Payer and Product Value Frameworks
Develops and continuously refines the payer value message platform and develops clear communications for the payer audience in collaboration with Brand Teams, HEOR and Medical
Plans and manages the rollout of communications via POA, conventions, etc.
Develops comprehensive training plan to support effective delivery of communications
Supports development of pricing and contracting strategies
Develops and maintains a comprehensive understanding of changing market access environment and routinely synthesizes facts into actionable insights including driving market research and insight gathering
Aligns and supports brand efforts including brand planning, launches and new indications
Ensures all communications are approved via Legal, Regulatory and Medical Compliance teams
Support pull-through and communication efforts with sales team
Effectively manages agency activities and ensures marketing spend is within budget
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
At least 10 years of experience in healthcare across multiple roles, e.g. Sales, Marketing, Field Reimbursement and Market Access
Solid understanding of Market Access landscape and HTA approaches
Aptitude for clinical evidence evaluation and translation into messaging
Demonstrated market access launch experience
Understanding of reimbursement processes, payer and pull through expertise
Solid problem solving, conflict management, project management and analytical skills
Effectively work cross-functionally with a highly collaborative approach
Effective budget management experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree. MBA or advanced degree desired but not required.
