We are looking for Permit Specialist to join our Pasadena Office!

This position is responsible for the processing of engineering drawings through plan check and permitting with local jurisdictions.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE INVOLVE?


  • Submit engineering drawings, inspection requests, and other documentation to local jurisdictions for plan check review and permit processing.

  • Respond to basic plan check comments and questions over-the-counter with the plan reviewer.

  • Develop excellent working relationships with plan review authorities.

  • Organize and track all applications, permits, and inspections requests.

  • Responsible for reconciling checking and credit card accounts

  • Oversee other team members in permit process

  • Plot and assemble drawings, reports and other project documents

  • Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines

  • Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE?


  • Minimum 2 years experience in HVAC and/or plumbing engineering design or building permit processing

  • Basic understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems and applications

  • Familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards

  • Regular travel within the region is required.

  • The employee may regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk and sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (for purposes of assisting with project job walks and site inspections).

  • The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulder height to access storage cabinets and shelves.
