This position is responsible for performing the systems analysis and implementation to achieve Meritor IT initiatives. This includes cross-functional user/customer interfacing and liaison support between end users and all levels of the IT organization. The prime initiative is to act as a change catalyst and integrator to improve the use of business information systems at the local and regional levels. A secondary focus is to administer local IT infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain and manage the local area network in excellent operating condition, including file servers, Ethernet cabling, and all attached work-stations and peripherals.
• Provide technical support to trouble-shooting and resolve issues with regards to software, hardware, and data access and communications.
• Accurately interpret user requirements to develop clear and concise systems and/or program specifications.
• Perform LAN management services including creation/modification of user profiles, account management and active directory services in accordance to corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain updates on hardware, firmware, software, etc. as necessary; support third party software as necessary. Integrate as necessary.
• Support local Voice System by performing Adds, Moves, and Changes.
• Maintain\Create current comprehensive documentation of our LAN system configuration and application usage. Vendor License/Support Management.
• Maintain backup retention in accordance with corporate and local IS Business Continuity requirements using Avamar and Veeam solutions.
• Provide deskside support and resolve via ticket system.
• Provide on-going definition and recommendation of standard and facility-unique systems
• Analyze and offer recommendations to improve the use and execution of business systems applications.
• Provide input for monthly activity reports and other status reports, as required, including the annual budget process.
• Support multiple locations – remotely or as needed.
• Travel as required to fulfill communication and projects requirements.
• Reasonable availability during off hours for trouble shooting and support as required.
• Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing, to people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Be heavily focused on Continuous Improvement of processes and personal skillset.
• 2-Year College Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical certificate or relevant experience
• Network Infrastructure knowledge, preferably Cisco.
• Knowledge of IP addressing and networking protocols like IPv4, DHCP, VLAN, etc.
• Knowledge of Windows Server 20XX environment.
• Knowledge of Security maintenance using encryption, anti-virus, anti-spam etc. (Checkpoint)
• Knowledge of the O365 Suite and license management
• 3-5 years in an ERP systems environment (i.e. Oracle, SAP, etc.) highly preferred.
• Automotive Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools and best practices for Server Room Environment, Application / Server uptime such as WhatsUp Gold.
• Experience with Virtualization in Networking, Desktop and Server environments such as VDI and VMWare.
• Knowledge of Security Concepts and experience with Checkpoint solutions.
• Experience with Industry of Things (IoT) implementations and solutions.
• Industry 4.0 experience.
• Knowledge and experience in IaaS / SaaS hosted solutions: Azure/AWS, Sharepoint.
