Job Summary
This full-time position is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of production equipment, mobile equipment, and the facility. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge and experience of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborates with team members by communicating irregularities and corrective action
Understand production equipment uptime requirements while maintaining & assisting various daily production duties
Assist production during machine setup, operate crane hoist to perform mold change, machine operation, & clearing jams from the conveyor systems
Sustains production by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools and examining form and texture of parts
Ability to interpret diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturing instructions and engineering specifications
Using mobile equipment to move finished product from production facilities to shipping yard
Make frequent quality checks on the production equipment observing it for deviations and adjust correct malfunctions
Make periodic checks of electrical and hydraulic pumping units
Perform preventative maintenance on machines and auxiliary equipment as assigned such as
Identify necessary parts for repair, following appropriate procedures, acquire spares and/or request new orders
Maintain safe and clean working environment by observing all local and company safety policies and procedures as well as housekeeping requirements, performing all job functions in compliance with safety guidelines and company policies/procedures complying procedures, rules, and regulations
Ability to weld, cut, clean, polish, and grind welded joints
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Requirements
Strong knowledge of plant operations as it pertains to production
Expert level knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
Must maintain schedule flexibility to ensure smooth production
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to learn to identify product defects
Must work well in a team environment
Ability to learn and operate machine principles of all assigned equipment
Strong analytical, problem solving, and technical troubleshooting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, presented clearly at all levels of the organization
In-depth understanding of the preventative maintenance process with thorough understanding of automation controls and industrial power distribution
Advanced TPM experience
Demonstrated success in developing and instituting maintenance best
At least 3 years’ experience as a Machine Operator in an industrial plant
Preferences
Knowledge of maintenance programs is a plus
Universal maintenance experience (well rounded)
Strong on motor control and variable frequency drives (VFD's)
Knowledge of control circuit wiring 24VDC is a plus
