SUMMARY OF PROGRAM/PROJECT:
Technatomy performs acceptance testing of FCC auction systems and IT Supply Chain Reimbursement System including integration and connection points in the associated systems. Test engineers provide test support upon code/user story delivery into the test environment after sprint increments in addition to system end-to-end testing prior to go-live. Activities include gathering of all business and technical documents (e.g., due diligence documents, staff interviews, document reviews, etc.) necessary to test and verify specifications, validation of requirements, and performing the appropriate unit, integration, functional, and non-functional testing for each component of the systems. This testing ensures the reliability, accessibility, validity, compatibility, traceability, and a smooth rollout of the systems. Testing of system elements are conducted on FCC-provisioned infrastructure, which includes a mix of on-premises systems, components hosted on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform, and system components housed on other infrastructure.
POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):
The Test Engineer (Intern) will be a member of a test team dedicated to conduct user acceptance tests of complex Federal systems comprising of external user interfaces (web based) and administrator interfaces. UAT is conducted using manual and processes, and includes developing solid test cases, procedures, support documentation and reports of findings. The Intern will perform the following duties:
Conduct User Acceptance testing (UAT) under the supervision of engineers
Develop test plans and test scenarios for each test cycle, leveraging the requirements gathered and user stories groomed by the development team.
Review user requirements and system specifications. Collect and review all system documentation for the system functionality and integration requirements to verify the correct functionality and compliance of development efforts.
Review and analyze user stories to create test cases and scenarios based on the acceptance criteria defined for new features and products
Coordinate, attend and participate in all meetings necessary to be adequately knowledgeable and prepared to conduct testing.
Perform manual including look and feel, and basic mathematical calculations
Identify, analyze and clearly document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens, and content
Document test findings in a tool identified by the customer after each test cycle that includes all results, for each executed test. The findings shall document any discrepancies, inconsistencies, or deficiencies identified during the testing of the delivered system and its associated documentation
Communicate system development team on discrepancies, inconsistencies, or deficiencies identified, and to recreate them, as needed, to further the system development team’s understanding of the issues.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1-5 years’ understanding and experience in waterfall as well as Agile methodologies
1-5 year's understanding of financial analysis/game theory
1-5 year's understanding of technical concepts including Application Development, Application Testing, Infrastructure, Database management.
1-5 years’ experience with test manual tools
1-5 years’ experience writing clear, concise test plans, test cases, scenarios, and reports
Strong written and oral communications skills; must be comfortable operating and testing complicated systems and be able to understand and document technical concepts; must be flexible and able to handle multiple simultaneous tasks
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

Understanding/experience of Web technology (a plus)
Software Development Life Cycle
Web Based Testing Applications (preferred)
QA testing environments, methodologies, tools, and processes
Working closely With Development and Product Teams
Familiarity in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective C, C#, JavaScript and related technologies.
Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
Ability to learn quickly and work independently
Developing clear and concise test reports
Knowledge of computer systems and software in Java, Linux or Unix
Ability to think outside of the box
Ability to use basic software programs, information systems, and office equipment. •Ability to communicate information clearly to staff, clients and/or management.

Clearance :
Require a moderate background investigation performed by the client. Because of contract requirements- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED.
Education :
Computer Science or information technology related Majors preferred, Electronics Engineering, or other Technical discipline
Certifications:
CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing) (desired).
