Job Description 

This position is responsible for managing sales of Ferro’s Liquid Color Dispersions, with special focus on key accounts, and developing market segments to boost the growth of Ferro’s Liquid Color Dispersions in North America

General Responsibilities Related to the Job: 


  • Analyze and develop strategies for product pricing and market growth opportunities, in tandem with Business Manager, for existing and new materials and markets to ensure margin maintenance/growth.

  • Increase sales, gross profit and market share in North America

  • Identify market segments to develop profitable and sustainable growth plans

  • Gathers and disseminate market information to assist with identifying threats, opportunities and product development

  • Identify, develop and follows up on sales pipeline / sales funnel

  • Identify and provide service levels to meet customer requirements

  • Visit, develop and manage key accounts; form long term customer relationships built on trust

  • Provide a fast responsive and accurate service to meet customer requests and demands

  • Identify major trends in key market segments

  • Participate and contribute in key technical and trade organization meetings to boost the positioning of Ferro as reliable and focused player in the liquid color dispersions industry

  • Provide direction to technical service group on projects involving key customers or critical applications.

  • Maintain direct sales responsibility for commercial and technical service activities, what includes call reports, technical service requests, samples and sales demand forecasts

  • Coordinate customer technical service including troubleshooting, technical presentations, and quality/ complaint investigations. 

  • Develops close working relationships with other Ferro cross-functional departments, including R&D, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer Service that create and promote an environment of cooperation and effectiveness necessary to meet the current and future needs of the business, both in sustainability and growth.

  • Provide commercial support as product range/market expert to Distributors Manager in building solid relationships with key distributors 

  • Support and coordinates new product introduction at accounts

  • Responsible for tracking and communicating competitive activities

  • Responsible for preparing and providing written reports as directed, including responsibility to insure similar accountability for direct reports, as appropriate.

Required Qualifications and Knowledge: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. Additional education in Marketing, Business, Sales, and key account management desired.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in technical sales / market development in the liquid color dispersions industry for Plastics, Coatings and alike

  • Must be computer literate in MS Office software and knowledge of SAP.

  • Strong knowledge of excel spreadsheets and forecasting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Travel Requirements: 

  • Ability to travel to customer locations, other company sites, trade shows as needed (up to 50%).

Physical Demands:

  • Physical requirements that may include those required in a standard office environment, visiting production areas as well as travel

Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:   This position shall maintain compliance with all Federal, State and Local Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations, at all times.  The employee in this position shall always maintain compliance with all Ferro Safety Standards as well as EHS rules/requirements of all Ferro and Customer sites.
