About the Job

The Associate Director of Finance, Portfolio Management, is responsible for providing strategic financial guidance to the Life Cycle teams at FMI. This will include oversight of all planning, modelling, reporting and other FP&A initiatives related to Life Cycle Teams. This position also partners with the Portfolio Governance Committee (PGC) and the Corporate Development team for financial modeling, forecasting and monitoring linked to portfolio-related projects and opportunities and assesses the impact of these initiatives on FMI's short, mid, and long-term financial objectives. This position guides decision making based on key business assumptions, strategic priorities, revenue and cost impact, and risks and opportunities. Generally, this position is a creative and strategic leader that leverages industry experience to generate financial recommendations and insights. The Associate Director of Portfolio Management works a flexible schedule as projects dictate.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and lead agile FP&A processes for Life Cycle teams through insightful, scenario-driven, forward-looking decision making.
  • Support FMI's long range planning, and long-term resource allocation strategy through partnership with the PGC.
  • Support the Corporate Development Team in creating comprehensive financial models with cross-functional inputs from FMI teams.
  • Work closely with the FP&A lead to model the potential impact of portfolio initiatives on FMI's Long Range Plan and Annual Operating Plan.
  • Identify key financial and non-financial risks based on macro and micro factors, conduct scenario analysis and recommend actions for mitigation of those risks.
  • Execute upon mentorship and development initiatives for the team to help the team achieve individual, department and company goals.
  • Prepare concise format executive level presentations with recommendations and conclusions.
  • Evaluate the potential impact of industry events on the company's financial models.
  • Participate in and facilitate group meetings and work with cross functional leaders.
  • Other ad hoc projects as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree


  • 7+ years of financial, business and strategic planning experience with increasing responsibilities

    Preferred Qualifications



    • Master of Business Administration
    • Master's Degree or higher educational level in Accounting or Finance
    • Professional biopharma and/ or life science experience including an understanding of therapeutic or diagnostic development and commercialization
    • Advanced financial modeling experience including long range forecasting, DCF, and multiple-based valuation methodologies, and integreted financial statements
    • Stong professional interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated history of adaping quickly to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
    • Strong leadership history in complex and changing environments, with demonstrated ability to gain trust and support from cross functional peers and teams.
    • Resourceful in finding answers and solutions when information and data is not readily available
    • Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy & compliance
