DEPARTMENT: Alvarez and Marsal Information Technology
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Microsoft Engineer role provides on-going and strategic development tasks for Alvarez and Marsal SharePoint application including SharePoint Online. The candidate will be providing technical leadership on the technical design of the application. This person will lead the effort in upgrading A&M in house SharePoint environment to SharePoint Online. This lead role will also provide technical guidance to level 1 support team as well as providing training to A&M users. The individual will also assist in managing 3rd party technical support, including tasks as attending status meetings, ensure 3rd party providing ticket resolving matrices, and evaluate/ensuring the 3rd party ability to complete project. He/she participates in creation of technical specifications and contributes to project planning activities. This role is responsible for overall implementation of best-in-class application solutions. The position involves creating technical specs, technical solutions and development efforts for small to midsize projects. For project oriented development the developer must work as part of a larger team to understand and implement specifications, communicate technical issues, and actively participate in functional, technical and code reviews.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Microsoft Engineer has one or more of the following responsibilities:
Software Development
Act as Level 2 support in resolving SharePoint tickets. Evaluate ticket complexity and determine if 3rd party support can assist
Lead MS server patching efforts for SharePoint; including other application development team servers
Liaison with 3rd party SharePoint support team in ticket resolution and project development tasks; including reviewing/verifying technical architecture and solution
Act as SME on how A&M can further incorporate other MS 360 products
Lead SharePoint Migration effort from in-house hosting to Azure Cloud
Provide knowledge transfer to 3rd party vendor, internal help desk team and provide training material to users
Experience in leading multiple SharePoint projects simultaneously, demonstrate the ability to lead a technical/consulting team within a project and meet deadlines.
Ability to research and develop comprehensive architectural solutions across multiple IT disciplines.
Provide technical leadership to the project/consulting team. Strong knowledge of SDLC.
Able to execute performance tuning at the application code level and server level.
Introduce technical best practices best practiced and provide technical mentoring to developers, 3rd party team, and help desk
Conduct code reviews and design reviews; validate technical approaches of other team member and 3rd party vendor.
Ability to provide technical development plan and project estimations.
Able to keep pace with the rapid change in MS products that can be utilize by A&M
Must have experience is using Microsoft flow, Intex and or Sharegate.
Documentation
Contribute to writing of technical specifications
Update training material and technical documentation
Project Planning
Provide level-of-effort estimates for projects and maintenance tasks across functional teams
Refine technical estimates based on approved functional and technical specification
Quality Assurance
Able to create QA/testing strategy including test scripts and perform QA testing
Work with UAT teams to ensure that work products meet desired objectives
Review and provide test case feedback
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with delivery team regarding maintenance and projects
Coordinate maintenance and project releases
Provide production support (on-call)
Follow escalation procedures when required
Collaborate with application support team for application code reviews
Collaborate with infrastructure on site performance issues
Understand and integrate third party applications

Candidate must be able to develop efficient, maintainable code under the standards set forth by the technology team
Proficiency in technical and process problem solving, as well as root analysis
Candidate must also manage timely, effective development tasks, through collaboration with technical lead and project liaison, and effectively communicating development status as requested and required
Candidate must have demonstrated ability to create technical design and fully understand software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Candidate must be able to collaborate on implementation solutions across functional teams
Demonstrate ability to handle and prioritize site initiatives
Ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical audience
Develop and effectively communicate project status/solution using such tools as project plans and Visio diagrams
Candidate must have demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service, including (but not limited to):

Proficiency in written and verbal communications
Education:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong technical understanding of SharePoint architecture
SharePoint system administration and development
MS SQL
Understand client server technology, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact with individuals on all levels
Work Experience:
8+ years' work experience in application development
Experience in creating technical design prior to development
