Finance and Operations Senior Associate, Disputes and Investigations

A&M's Disputes and Investigations (DI) practice provides forensic accounting and dispute advisory services to clients within a wide variety of industries. The practice brings a practical, results-oriented approach to solving problems related to forensic accounting investigations, financial disputes, regulatory interventions, and technical accounting issues.

About the Opportunity:

A&M's DI practice is seeking a Finance and Operations Senior Associate. This position is an internal role reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance and Operations in DI. As a member of the DI support team, you will play a key role in providing information to DI leadership which will enable them to make strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a personality and style that will be respected by the Managing Directors within the practice.

Responsibilities:


  • Assist in preparing annual budget and mid-year forecasts

  • Identify drivers of results and suggest creative solutions to improve performance

  • Proactively monitor P&L activity, providing variance analysis to spending relative to budget

  • Compile and present utilization data and assist leadership with resource deployment and management

  • Monitor accuracy and timeliness of client billing, collections of receivables, and support year-end collection activities

  • Support leadership in annual year-end compensation process

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for leadership and internal team meetings

  • Liaise with DI's corporate finance and human resources business partners to obtain data and analysis in a timely and efficient manner

  • Work with leadership and staff to build and leverage relationships across the organization

  • Ad-hoc projects

Qualifications:


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant business experience in Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis or similar area

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Initiative and sound judgment to make appropriate and timely decisions

  • Ability to understand and articulate financial impact or business decisions

  • Ability to work both independently and as a trusted member of a team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with data analytic tools such as Tableau, Power BI or other BI tools

  • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment

  • Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
