Strategic Material Planner
This position is responsible for the support, collaboration and coordination of finishing supply production materials for various launch programs within the Facial business. This position would also be expected to lead and/or participate in various projects which support achieving team objectives. This position provides work direction and coaching to peers.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate finishing supply material plans that support the needs of various Facial projects, while achieving customer service objectives at the lowest total delivered cost.
Coordinate with mid-term and provide direction to Schedulers/Material Planners on material changes to support business plans and minimize obsolescence in collaboration with Operations, Marketing, Planning, and Packaging.
Provide long-term forecasts to vendors and acts as liaison between tactical Schedulers, material planners, strategic planning, procurement, and the vendor.
Work with vendors to coordinate their schedules and establish priorities when required to prevent supply constraints or customer service; ensure vendor resources will support business plan.
Maintain accurate recipe planning information for materials in SAP (an Enterprise Resource Planning system), updating as necessary for material / product changes.
Participate and lead problem solving and process improvement with production site, staff, and vendor teams.
Lead and / or participate in various projects which support achieving both production site and staff objectives.
Provide a Logistics perspective in working with the operations team to identify waste, delay, and grade change opportunities to increase productivity.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics / Supply Chain, Business, or related field
3-5 years’ experience in Logistics and / or Operations for production sites or staff
Knowledge of and experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning system
A demonstrated ability to effectively organize, plan, control, analyze, and communicate in order to relay materials plans to production sites and staff units
Other Qualifications:
A demonstrated ability to organize resources and analyze alternatives to make effective decisions
A demonstrated personal credibility through strong communication skills, achieving results, and trusted relationships with others
Personal and organizational sensitivity
A demonstrated ability to provide work direction to peers or others
Working knowledge of supply chain interactions
Willingness to challenge the status quo and facilitate different perspectives to drive solutions
Ability to lead small projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Experience as a Material Planner and / or Production Scheduler
Knowledge of and experience with SAP and Business Warehouse
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
