Reporting Relationships: The Field Mechanic will travel with our Planting and Harvest teams, working closely with farm equipment operators, farm managers, and other field mechanics.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Detect the cause(s) of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems, correcting the cause(s) of the problems, and performing related repairs as necessary
Perform setup and pre-delivery inspection of new equipment
Adjust, maintain, repair, or overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems
Perform preventive maintenance as recommended by company and related manufacturers; Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair, clean and lubricate parts.
Keep accurate, complete, and timely records of repair work performed
Operate heavy and light equipment including but not limited to tractors, trucks, pickups, skid steers, loaders and other equipment as needed
Safe use of mechanical lifting, floor jack lifting, and jack stands
Complete diagnostics and repairs on diesel, gas, and small engines
Assess equipment breakdowns in field and address accordingly
Perform ARC welding, acetylene touch cutting, brazing, and soldering as required
Will operate and maintain field service truck, following and servicing farm equipment in the field
Keep work area safe, neat and organized as necessary for efficient job performance
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on Ag equipment or tractors
Self-starter willing to initiate and lead training programs/initiatives
Ability to analyze Farm Shop process inefficiencies, and implement solutions
Experience with:
the operation and repair of both gasoline and diesel engines.
hydraulic systems and repairs as related to pumps, controls, and transmission components.
electrical systems and components as it relates to equipment or machinery.
Superior organizational and project management skills, with ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics and/or written instructions and/or oral instructions for repair work performed
Ability to acquire and hold a valid US driver’s license and successfully pass vehicle insurance verification
Must be eligible to work unrestricted in the U.S. without company sponsorship
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical, Diesel Technician or other related certifications preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish
Current CDL license
Physical Demands
Walking and working outdoors in the elements
Ability to bend, squat, twist, and crouch to achieve angle and positions required to perform various duties
Standing and driving for extended periods of time
Ability to lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
