Supervises the daily activities of workers engaged in facilities maintenance, reporting to the Director of Facilities. This will be a Tuesday through Saturday work week - Tuesday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Supervise assigned staff toward accomplishment of the mission of the Food Depository and the Facilities Department. Includes personnel selection, scheduling and job assignment; training and development, counseling, performance appraisal and recognition; recommending salary, promotional, disciplinary, and termination actions.
Develop and implement management control systems, programs, and procedures for the effective operation of the Facilities Department.
Develop and maintain a maintenance management system to track the preventive and corrective maintenance of all HVAC, MHE, and other major facility plant equipment.
Coordinate, schedule, and oversee all aspects of facilities maintenance work performed by subordinate staff or by outside contractors.
Responsible for the oversight of the department budget. Responsible for the issuing, recording, management and verification of receipt for our purchase orders. Manage all vendors and contract agreements. Vendor oversight to verify satisfactory completion of contracted work.
Serve as the Food Depository’s Occupational Safety and Health coordinator
Maintain the Food Depository’s building security systems.
Participating member of the Food Safety Team
Responsible for the nightly security shutdown of the building at 7 p.m. as well as covering the Saturday Day Shift. All normal Holidays will be observed.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Three years of management and supervisory experience in facilities operations.
Stationary Engineer’s License preferred.
Professional Certification preferred.
Knowledge of contract bid proposal processes.
Excellent interpersonal & communications skills.
Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices.
Ability to operate material handling and related production/warehouse equipment preferred.
Personal computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database application development.
Administrative abilities for invoice processing, labor time keeping, inventory management practices and record keeping, and general warehouse document processing.
Exposure:
Normal warehouse environment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Interacts with Food Depository staff, construction and maintenance contractors and vendors, other food bank staffs and temporary labor service agency vendors.
