DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, technology-focused BIM Specialist to become an integral component of our dynamic and growing team in the Pittsburgh (Moon Township), PA office. With our success and focus on growing Federal (Department of Defense - DoD), Federal Civilian (non-DoD) Agencies, and International Markets, along with strategic diversification including Healthcare, Aviation, and Transit, the position collaborates with multi-disciplinary design teams of architects, interior designers, building engineers (S/MEP/FP), and site/civil engineers executing traditional and alternative delivery projects, including Design/Build. The candidate must demonstrate creative problem-solving, organizational skills, strong BIM-focused production management capabilities, and a thorough understanding of construction documents and constructability.


  • Responsible for onboarding new staff with standards policies
  • Coordinates efforts of multi-disciplinary engineering disciplines
  • Leads to multi-disciplinary Building Information Modeling (BIM) Process specific to assigned project scope of work and client requirements:
  • Develops and updates to the BIM Execution Plan throughout project
  • Conducts initial BIM kickoff meeting for the project team and regular weekly meetings, specific for each project
  • Establishes Master Revit Model and Workflow for shared coordinate implementation for all models
  • Managing the submissions and compiling the drawing documentation together (i.e. drawing index, bookmarks, etc.)
  • Maintains Revit model health and performs Navisworks clash detection, submissions, file exchanges, and reports
  • Be a member of the BIM leaders' group to research innovative technologies and help improve on standards and efficiency.
  • Maintain Revit libraries as well as build upon library families and library management
  • Continually improve standards and methods with a focus on getting things done

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Working knowledge of Navisworks
  • Expert level knowledge of Autodesk's Revit required
  • In-depth knowledge of technology-based collaboration systems
  • Ability to build and adjust Revit templates
  • Previous experience handling multi-building projects at one time in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous asset management experience is a plus
  • Experience working with LiDAR and point cloud in accurately generating a federated Revit model
  • Basic understanding of Design technology and ability to work with IT on product issue resolution and hardware refreshes
  • Experience working in the government sector using federal standards is preferred

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION


  • It is preferred the candidate reside in the Pittsburgh, PA area -or- willing to relocate
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in the AEC industry; multi-disciplinary BIM/CAD experience
  • Revit and AutoCAD professional License preferred
