POSITION PURPOSE


This position is responsible to drive lean principles, implement continuous improvement projects, ensure product quality, and guide safety initiatives. Plan, direct, coordinate and communicate all manufacturing related issues in accordance with SOP's and cGMP's in order to achieve product performance objectives and productivity. It is responsible for the training and development of Associates, and ensuring that all required certifications are complete and current. This position will interact routinely with multiple levels of management within operations, purchasing, warehouse and logistical distribution, quality, maintenance, engineering and human resources.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES



  1. Responsible for continuous improvement processes to include projects, initiatives, process implementation, and problem solving processes for manufacturing associates and equipment.

  2. Responsible for training and development of all skilled associates. Assuring all training is current and effective.

  3. Responsible for the operations and production results of the facility to include: goal achievement, problem solving coordination, establishment of shift priorities and achievement of production results.

  4. Ensure the accurate completion of required documentation per prescribed SOP's and cGMP's.

  5. Develop a collaborative and effective interface with all site resources as listed in the scope.

  6. Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) on plant computer based systems.

  7. Develop, train and mentor Team Leaders and operators through regular feedback, participation in group decision-making, open communication and setting priorities.

  8. Provide leadership and direction in Safety, Quality, and Productivity through the use of continuous improvement process.

  9. Evaluate job performance of Team Leaders and assist in the mentoring and development of core teams.

  10. Ensure compliance to company policies, cGMP's and SOP's.

  11. Maintain shift performance and documentation of production results.

  12. Maintain a tour ready facility at all times.

  13. Ensure accuracy of department production reporting. Verify daily/weekly results and communicate to all associates.

  14. Actively participate in required training classes.

  15. Provide support in the absence of the Production Manager.

  16. Develop and maintain a collegial relationship with all supervision.

  17. Report to the Production Manager any information, which goes beyond daily operational issues. Maintain communications regarding efficiencies, downtime, quality, issues, employee relations concerns, scheduling conflicts or any other information that affects the success of the operation.

  18. Communicate urgent job scheduling issues with the Scheduling Department.

  19. Investigate and report all accidents and near misses that occur on the line.

  20. Direct the work activities of the line personnel and allocate the necessary resources in order to meet daily production standards.

  21. Along with Supervision/Management evaluate employee performance during their probationary and/or assessment period (i.e. 30 and 60 days.)

  22. Other duties as assigned.




QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



  • BS in Supervision, or related field, or equivalent experience.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:



  • Lean principles

  • Hands-on knowledge of production systems, project management, leadership skills, influence skills, root cause analysis, SPC concepts, team leadership, ability to self-generate improvement ideas and take into action, Windows operating systems.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • 3-5 years Production Line Supervision


SKILLS/ABILITIES:



  • Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Handles conflicts in professional manner

  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as required

  • Willing to train on CGMP requirements and company policies and procedures
