Job Description:

Project Cost Analyst/Accountant

Locations: Nevada, New Jersey & Pennsylvania

The Project Cost Analyst/Accountant is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects and investigating variance. The Project Cost Analyst/Accountant will work closely with Division Presidents, Account Managers and the Corporate Accounting team. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following.

Duties & Responsibilities

Forecasting /Reporting


  • Assist with strategic planning/forecasting of project financials

  • Assist in managing Salestracker (QuickBase) by adding, updating, and deleting projects

  • Review and compare projects with estimates and contracts and alerting management of any changes necessary

  • Provide variance reports

  • Assist Division Presidents in annual forecasting

  • Update/Maintain Data on Spec Loss Workbook Daily

  • Create and Distribute Spec Loss Report Weekly

  • Send Weekly Timecard Report for Shop Capacity

Accounting / Project Management


  • Prepare billing sheets and evaluate the performance of the projects

  • Monitor late costs and research and present explanations to division president

  • Coordinate billing accruals and compare accruals to contract and estimates for inconsistencies

  • Cost Tracking including moving cost and time

  • Monitor job dates to verify job will be completed in the month indicated

  • Work with purchasing to research and track purchase orders

Qualifications

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:


  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

  • 1-2 years accounting experience preferred

  • Excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication skills.

  • The ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBase, and Hubspot or any CRM software is highly preferred

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to produce sufficient volume of work while maintaining accuracy is a must.

  • A strong work ethic and a "can-do anything" attitude.
