Production Worker at Sonoco Products Company in Hartsville, South Carolina

Job Description:

The Hartsville Converting Operations has an opening for a Production Worker. This position will be under the general direction of the Winding Shift Supervisor.

The successful candidate must have a very good record in the areas of safety, work history, attendance and housekeeping. Candidates must be self-motivated, have excellent problem-solving skills and a positive attitude. This position will either rotate 1st and 2nd shifts, up to 12 hours shifts, or work a straight 3rd shift. The candidate must be willing to work o/t, weekends, and holidays.

Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• responsible for safely and efficiently assisting machine tenders or others with the physical requirements of the assigned operations


• require operating small hand-type or less complicated equipment


• removing tubes from overhead dryer chain conveyor


• loading tubes on trucks and labeling them properly


• placing scrap on carts to be hauled away


• inspection and packing tubes


• other essential duties as assigned

Base rate: $ 16.33/hr.
