Supervises and coordinates the activities of maintenance workers and coordinates outside contractors when needed.
Essential Functions:
Directs workers engaged in maintenance tasks to include maintaining/repairing plant utility systems, water distribution and plumbing systems, general plant maintenance, and ground maintenance.
Reviews maintenance schedules, maintenance requests or work orders and assigns workers to tasks.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures in response to maintenance priorities.
Analyzes and resolves work problems.
Confers with other departmental managers to coordinate activities.
Reviews completed work reports and/or inspects completed work for conformance to standards.
Supervises industrial janitors (Maintenance Helpers) and Millwrights.
Coordinates maintenance services with outside contractors.
Requisitions tools, equipment, machine parts, and materials/supplies.
Develops and maintains a computerized maintenance management program.
Maintains attendance records, conducts performance reviews and recommends or initiates personnel actions such as disciplinary measures.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Procures bids and manages budget for maintenance and CapEx projects.
Manages oil, solvent and metal working fluid sampling, usage, and inventories.
Excellent project management skills with certification in at least one project management method
Knowledge and experience in Manufacturing, Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and Planned Maintenance
Effective communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English
Strong analytical ability and initiative; able to lead and motivate a team of maintenance personnel.
Maintenance experience - comfortable with working in cross-functional teams and actively supporting members of the factory team.
Education and Experience:
Technical/Mechanical Engineering degree preferred or 5-8 years' relevant maintenance and supervisory experience
