What we're looking for:

The Director, Marketing Technology and Web Services will be an IT leader who will be responsible for articulating a clear vision, strategy, and execution plan for the company's marketing technology platforms and solutions! This person will build positive relationships with Marketing leadership and drive alignment of technology goals to business objectives and outcomes. He/She will lead multiple teams, including web developers, solution architects, platform administrators, and analysts. This leadership role will work across all of IT as well as with our business partners. This person will be working in a fast-paced business and IT environment and will need to bring collaboration and creativity to solving marketing technology and application challenges with business needs and responsible TCO in mind.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:


  • Lead and Run solutions and web development teams operational and strategic planning to achieve business outcomes through effective planning, teamwork, negotiation, and execution, with internal and external partners and stakeholders.

  • Drive the strategy to evolve and modernize web platforms, marketing solutions, tools, and processes to enable efficient operations and cost models.

  • Responsible for securing and coordinating multi-functional resources to execute sophisticated or high-visibility initiatives.

  • Directly partner the marketing team at all levels to support the development of marketing strategies with appropriate digital capabilities as part of the coordinated plan.

  • Partner with the Enterprise Data & Analytics organization to strategize and activate meaningful insights for the marketing team

Vendor and SLA Management:


  • Effectively maintain relationships with vendors, outsourcers, and consultants - including contracts, service agreements, and critical issues.

  • Develop bid requirements for all marketing technology and platform upgrades, review submitted bids for compliance with stated requirements, and make the appropriate award.

  • Troubleshoot and analyze performance issues and customer-reported incidents as appropriate, with a continuous improvement attitude and process.

  • Provides mentorship, objectives, and metrics, and oversight to help teams maintain 24x7 uptime and availability of production's most important services.

Efficient Operations:


  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and craft all operational activities of the marketing technology team, as well as provide direction and support for Marketing solutions that improve critical business operations.

  • Lead the design, development, maintenance, and deployment of web applications and technologies.

  • Review performance of applications and platforms to resolve operating costs, efficiency levels, and upgrade requirements.

  • Planning and deployment of patches and other security/risk requirements partnering with IT Shared Services and Global Security Org

Leadership Responsibilities:


  • Cultivate and build a hard-working team.

  • Lead and mentor a team of system engineers and run service provider resources

  • Develop and review budgets and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives.

  • Responsible for the interaction with development during SDLC to represent the cloud ops need

Basic Qualifications


  • Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years prior meaningful experience.

  • In-depth experience with Marketing platforms and solutions, as examples: Marketo, Salesforce, and Adobe platforms

  • Proven experience with simplification, standardization, and automation skills using technologies like power shell, python, chef, puppet, etc.

  • Proven experience in communication with all levels within a company including executive leadership both verbally and written

  • Proven experience in growing and developing technical teams

  • Experience running security infrastructure compliance and risk management.

  • Agile project framework knowledge/experience

  • Ability to influence outside of the immediate team

Preferred Qualifications


  • 10+ years' experience in leadership in a global IT environment.

  • 8+ years' experience in hands-on and/or direct management in the following technical areas - Marketing automation, scaled web platforms and applications, and lead management solutions.

  • Demonstrates an appreciation of a diverse workforce. Appreciates differences in style or perspective and uses differences to add value to decisions or actions and organizational success.
