International Specialist II at IDEXX Laboratories, Inc in Memphis, Tennessee

Job Description:

As an International Specialist in IDEXX's Memphis Distribution Center, you will perform a variety of clerical and customer support tasks associated with distribution, materials handling, inventory control and instrument logistics.

Schedule: The schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch break.

What you can expect in this role:
May be responsible for any or all of the following:

• You will schedule bulk shipments and provide specifications to shipping companies


• You will file necessary export documentation


• You will instruct freight forwarders on how to handle shipments


• You will provide prompt e-mail communication about tracking, special requests, and documentation


• You will be proactive in problem-solving with your supervisor and manager


• You will stage, label and load freight


• You will communicate with the pick pack team as well as drivers to identify shipments


• You will document daily pickups


• You will check all shipping documentation for accuracy


• You will create shipping invoices and packing lists


• You will liaise with customer service teams in multiple regions and countries

What you need to succeed:

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associates degree or equivalent preferred.

• You will have an excellent attention to detail


• You will have the ability to work well under pressure and tight time constraints


• You will be able to effectively function in a team environment


• You will be able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously


• You will have good computer skills and knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred


• You will have excellent customer service skills


• You will be able to work flexible hours


• You will be able to move a pallet with a pallet jack


• You will be able to follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable ISO regulations


• For distribution and material handling work: Certificate to operate a forklift may be required; certificate to work with hazardous materials may be required; knowledge of export documentation and international traffic may be required; previous experience with dangerous goods is preferred; knowledge of customs rules, regulations and export documentation preferred

Physical demands:

• Warehouse-type environment


• Should be able to move a pallet on a pallet jack

Work environment:

• 75% office work, 25% warehouse tasks


• Normal warehouse environment where protective clothing may be required


• Moderate to high noise level


• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
