Job Description:

Community Solutions, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Job Developer at our New London AIC location working Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. You will be a part of a team helping to guide clients in their development and assist them to become a positive influence in the community. You will provide guidance, counseling, support and other employment related services to AIC program participants.  You will work to establish relationships with employers and businesses, promoting the services provided by CTWorks and give follow up serices to AIC participants with a focused effort toward employment.

Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the responsible citizenship, accountability, and well-being of individuals and families involved, or at risk of involvement, in the child welfare, juvenile justice, or criminal justice system. Since CSI’s founding in 1962, it has been a pioneer in the community-based service. We have been delivering supervision, treatment, and comprehensive individualized services to help clients interact more effectively in their communities and become productive citizens. Using this plan we built the first ever halfway house in New England which has now been replicated and grown to almost 50 programs in 10 states. For over 50 years, CSI has been building upon its successful foundations and has been expanding its services to serve thousands of adults, youth, and families each year..

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include but are not limited to:


  • Identify employment opportunities and assist AIC program participants with the job search process, including leading job clubs and presentation of workshops.

  • Represent Community Solutions, Inc. at events such as: chamber activities, job fairs and business expositions. Develop and coordinate such events.

  • Coordinate job fairs, recruitments, and on/off site visits with employers to establish relationships, identify and develop job opportunities for AIC participants. Document employer contacts in CSSD data collection system on the same business day contact occurs.

  • Meet or exceed employment placement rate established by the funding source.

  • Contribute towards meeting all benchmarks on CSSD’s risk reduction indicators.

  • Actively participate in Service Team Meetings by presenting new client assessments, clients nearing completion of service, any clients with poor attendance or participation and presenting any new cycles that clients can be placed in. Provide and elicit peer support for client issues as needed.

  • Enter all new referrals to interventions facilitated immediately following the Service Team Meeting into CSI and CSSD data collection systems on the day the data is obtained.

  • Prepare, plan and facilitate individual and group sessions as scheduled with integrity and fidelity to curriculum. Schedule and conduct make-up sessions as needed. Document all groups and individual sessions into both CSI and CSSD data collection system on the day the session occurs.

  • Based on work flow of the office, Job Developers may be assigned clients for case management.

  • Provide coverage of front desk as assigned

  • Participate in the administration and collection of WAI surveys.

  • Secure urines from same sex clients and complete all required paperwork and electronic documentation.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science field and one year experience in social services or similar field. Education may be substituted with experience on a year for year basis.

  • Experience working with clients for job readiness, developing community resources, initiating and maintaining contacts with the employment community or other job development related activities preferred.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills desired.

  • Knowledge of job development and employment resources preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a car is required.
