Job Description



The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Information Technology Communication Systems team is responsible for the timely delivery, deployment, support, and security of phone and video conference systems for Naval Reactors (NR) Program users. These systems are critical to the NR Programs ability to deliver the highest quality design products to NR and support safe operations in the fleet.The successful candidate will be based in Pittsburgh, PA and will support telecommunications, video conferencing, mobile operations, and telecommunications security with a focus area in PBX (phone) systems. The duties include but are not limited to:


  • Provides IT support in communications and network systems and system architecture.

  • Designs, implements and maintains computer network and communication systems.

  • Specifies hardware and software to implement system requirements.

  • Establishes network configuration standards, Standard Operating Procedures and network monitoring tools utilized by network administrators and support personnel.

  • Provide monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of PBX systems.

  • Develop and enrich operational policies and procedures for effective phone utilization.

  • Design and provide guidance on development of an integrated PBX system across multiple sites.

  • Support life cycle management on PBX infrastructure.

  • Provide monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of video conference systems.

  • Develop and enrich operational policies and procedures for effective video conferencing.

  • Develop technical standards for video conference systems.

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new video conference solutions.

  • Interface with end-users to deploy new video conference systems.

  • Support life cycle management of video conference infrastructure.

  • Support mobile operations and telecommunication security as needed.







Required Skills



Advanced:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience; or

  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of twoyears relevant experience

Senior:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years relevant experience; or

  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience







Preferred Skills




  • As least twoyears experience administering/managing PBX (phone) systems.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision or in a team-oriented collaborative environment with diverse individuals.

  • Posses a flexible working style, change direction as business needs change.

  • High focus on understanding and meeting customers' needs.
