Job Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of Behavioral Health programs and initiatives related to quality and accreditation to support department strategic objectives and business goals. The Program Manager must be adept at working with numerous departments and levels of personnel on projects and initiatives within a cross-functional, matrixed environment. The Program Manager position reports to the Director/Manager of Behavioral Health Services.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Program Management

1. Designs, develops and implements new programs/and quality initiatives to support strategic objectives and department business goals.

2. Evaluates Quality projects and initiatives from a cost, quality, contractual, and regulatory perspective.

3. Collaborates with management team to manage change as part of implementation.

Interdepartmental Collaboration/Facilitation.

4. Works with numerous departments within Health Care Services as well as with contracted vendors and providers to develop and implement programs and initiatives

5. Coordinates/authors internal and external communications (e.g. program information on web, brochures, provider newsletter).

6. Represents the Behavioral Health department at internal and external stakeholder meetings.

Performance Metrics

7. Works with department leadership to develop key operational performance metrics.

8. Analyzes key metrics, identifies opportunities for improvement, and prepares and presents summaries to internal and external stakeholders.

9. Ensures timely and accurate delivery of performance reporting to internal and external customers.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

Undergraduate degree required with master's degree and licensure in behavioral health field strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

6-8 years related experience in a behavioral health care environment, including complex project management and/or operational management experience. Experienced in managed health care preferred.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Demonstrated project management and/or program management skills; strong analytic skills


  • Strong ability to understand strategic objectives and implement operational processes to support these objectives; ability to connect the big picture with the operational details


  • Ability to develop creative strategies to address problems and overcome obstacles in a rapidly changing, highly regulated environment Must be self-directed, politically astute, and have outstanding interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills; must be able to effectively lead in a matrixed environment


  • Interacts independently with all levels of management, staff, physicians, hospital administrative personnel, and outside representatives


  • Ability to assess all work and prioritize as necessary; must be highly organized and able to juggle multiple priorities


  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues in other departments


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio


WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Business professional environment. Periodic travel to local offsite locations.
