Description
The Research & Global Initiatives Coordinator provides support for GSSM’s research & inquiry and global learning programming. Student participation in mentored research & inquiry experiences and global learning distinguish GSSM’s advanced educational program. This is a dynamic position with the opportunity to support growth and innovation in multiple areas of strategic leadership in high school education at GSSM.
The Research & Global Initiatives Coordinator will support approximately 140 student mentored research experiences at leading research institutions across South Carolina each summer and the expansion of on-campus research experiences during the school year.
This position will also support the continuation and expansion of global learning opportunities for students, including the Research Experience Scholars Program through which GSSM students have participated in international research in China, Germany, and South Korea. Additional student international experiences have included travel in the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Japan, Italy, France, Costa Rica, Peru, and more.
Duties will include some travel and participation in weekend activities. This position reports to the Director of Research & Inquiry.

This is a 12-month, full-time position with South Carolina state employee benefits. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

GSSM is an advanced, STEM-focused, public high school serving juniors and seniors in its residential program, 10-12th grade students in its virtual program, and elementary to high school students in its statewide outreach programs.
