To provide technical support for part specific ceramic core production programs. Support includes the procurement and maintenance of tooling, fixtures, and equipment; interpretation of customer specifications; and development of safe, cost efficient processes.
Improve yield, throughput, and quality of specific parts as assigned
Manage die and fixture life to facilitate the timely replacement of worn tooling
Manage setter quality
Statistical analysis of production data in order to improve processes
Cost justification and payback of expenditures through the X-order system.
Monitor dimensional and other process parameter trends for control and capability.
Continuous improvement of tooling, methods, and processes.
Review and disposition scrap, define and document product repair / rework procedures.
Manage part quality and cost, and improvement activities through yield improvement initiatives
Participate in NPI and Yield improvement teams to leverage best practices for process improvement
Develop manufacturing processes that assure conformance to customer specifications
Provide technical support to manufacturing to determine root cause to problems and implement corrective actions.
Originate and maintain work instructions, standard work, and standard routing (Q and R) for parts
Communicate customer specification requirements to manufacturing associates
Document HCS production process to comply with corporate specifications PM301, PM302, and PM303.
Assure tooling and processes comply with corporate best practices as defined in the Core Manual (CP) and Tooling Manual (TM).
Execute time studies as required
Assist cell leaders in cell balancing, determining cycle time and takt time
Improve safe work conditions, and ergonomic robustness of tooling and fixtures.
Improve manufacturing methods to optimize efficiency and lower costs
Continuous improvement of manufacturing systems through application of ABS principles
Regular interaction with casting engineers and OEM in order to address technical problems, improve process capability, and lower cost.
Determine cost, yield, and delivery impact of proposed specification changes.
Control rework, release, and use of customer owned tooling per TM1000
Understand impact of core on casting process, co-develop improvements with casting engineers
Negotiate reality in customers specifications as required by process capability
Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
