Strategic Communications Generalist - Marketing at Vancouver Clinic in Vancouver, Washington

Job Description:

The Strategic Communications Generalist will work closely with fellow members of the Marketing team and have exposure to various aspects of Marketing and Strategic Communications, including writing, event management and marketing plan development. They will own specific projects related to internal communication, special events and social media. This role develops, manages, and implements content consistent with Vancouver Clinic's content strategy to help increase the user experience and engagement across platforms. Efforts will support marketing plans, strategic plans, and the brand and mission of Vancouver Clinic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • INTERNAL COMMUNCIATION:

    • Develops blog content for the Vancouver Clinic intranet blog and newsletters.

    • Responsible for maintaining relevance and accuracy of content developed.

    • Works with department, leadership and service line subject matter experts to interview and draft communication.




  • CORPORATE COMMUNICATION

    • May call on internal and external resources as needed to develop content such as press releases, traditional articles/stories, digital and print ad copy, scripts/storyboards, infographics, photos, videos, and other interactive digital content.

    • Conducts interviews, produces content and gets approvals.

    • Assures consistency of messaging across channels.




  • PATIENT COMMUNICATION
    • Ensures appropriate health literacy and reading level on all patient education materials.



  • EVENT PROMOTION & MANAGEMENT
    • Works independently and collaboratively to support community events - including parades and other outreach opportunities. This includes onsite support for promotional item preparation and day-of-event distribution.



  • SOCIAL MEDIA
    • Creates social calendar for alignment with marketing strategies. Develops content and designs graphics to build brand awareness and engagement.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Must have excellent creative communication and writing/editing skills demonstrating proficiency in AP knowledge of style.

  • Ability to work in a remote team environment. This position may initially and at times work in an office environment.

  • Must remain professional and maintain strict confidence; protecting patient privacy.

  • Uses good judgment in assessing ramifications of communication. Provides input in identifying messages and drafting communication.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in developing marketing plans.

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive internal and external relationships in meeting agreed-upon deadlines with quality results.

  • Ability to think independently and creatively, assuming appropriate responsibility and authority within the guidance of department director.

  • Proficient with operating a personal computer and use of Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook and other required programs including Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

  • Operates department equipment (computer, copier, and telephone) in order to effectively perform job duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications or a related field required.
