A leader of engineering services to the automotive, aerospace, and defense industries, NTS is seeking an experienced Precision Cleaning/Contamination Control Specialist in the Los Angeles, CA Area. Following specific Standard Operating Procedures, safety policies, and industry specifications, the Precision Cleaning/Contamination Control Specialist provides oversight to assure that the technical targets of the department are met within the framework of established policies and standards. We will consider any of the following experience:
Passivation, detergent, aqueous, and alkaline cleaning methods
Developing and certifying new precision cleaning methods
Cleanroom operations, protocols and practices
Managing controlled environments with hazardous chemicals for safety and work efficiency
Materials identification and analysis techniques
Sampling and evaluation of non-volatile residues and particulates
Contamination control engineering
Precision cleaning and clean process development with the aerospace industry
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide technical leadership for all activities of the department pertaining to precision cleaning of aerospace components including space flight hardware
Provide support for process improvements and recommend cost-effective process or reliability improvements.
Act as customer advocate for providing technical support and guidance for customers
Interpret industry standards and applies to customer-specific part requirements
Provide technical support in new account development and generation of customer quotations
Provide training for precision cleaning technicians to maintain the clean processes and cleanroom practices to reduce contamination risk for customer hardware
Prepare quotations for precision cleaning customer requests
Performs limited testing and analysis as required
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education/Skills/Experience:
Technical Degree (BS or AS) AND experience in either cleanroom chemistry, surface treatment of metals or plating, cleaning materials or metallurgical experience OR 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment with equipment such as microscopes, pH meters, balances/scales, desiccators, vacuum ovens, gas and liquid filtration systems, particle counters, etc. ORa recent degree in a Materials Science Engineering with lab experience with equipment such as microscopes, pH meters, balances/scales, desiccators, vacuum ovens, gas and liquid filtration systems, particle counters, etc.
Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (present or future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check
Computer skills in standard Microsoft Office desktop applications. Experience using Microsoft Dynamic AX a plus
Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
Self-motivating, dependable, and responsible person requiring little direct supervision
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills are a must
Proven ability to learn at a fast pace with minimal training
Supervisory experience a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises
