The LPN provides basic quality nursing care to patients by collaborating with the registered nurse (RN) medical assistant (MA) and provider to collect data, plan, educate, implement and deliver care safely, effectively and within the scope of their license as defined by the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with the Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Diploma from an approved practical nursing program.
License/Certifications: Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure.
Experience: Two Years LPN experience preferred.
Current BLS required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies and functions.
Understanding of documentation standards.
Knowledge of infectious disease management and control safety standards.
Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders.
Skill in handling a number of tasks simultaneously.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug dosages.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and diverse patient populations.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of the electronic medical record.
