ENGIE North America Inc

As theChief Technology Officer for Storengy, you will work within a small start-up group to developStorengyinto a world-class provider of geothermal heating and cooling technology. You will develop and lead the company's underground storage expertise to address customer demand and drive business development efforts.

What you'll do:


  • The initial regional focus in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.

  • Understand policy and regulatory programs and how they evolve to drive the marketplace; microgrids and regulated utilities, carbon emission reduction and environmental.

  • Track geothermal and applicable energy storage incentive and grant programs at the federal, state, and local levels.

  • Qualify and lead technical business development and sales opportunities.

  • Articulate integrated green solutions for clients and projects.

  • Represent the company, develop the brand, and advance its development by actively participating in industry associations, webinars, conferences, workshops, and symposia.

  • Identify key customers, projects, and stakeholders at the forefront of sustainable, low-to-zero-carbon heating and cooling for real estate development/redevelopment.

  • Lead staff in the development of relationships, opportunities, and proposals.

  • Lead the development of GIS databases and technical tools that facilitate a rapid understanding of ground conditions and ongoing productivity improvements.

  • Provide a principal-level review of technical work products.

  • Recruit, mentor, cross train, develop and manage technical staff involved in hydrogeologic, geochemical, environmental, permitting, and drilling activities core to the business.

  • Leverage and expand existing networks and integrate with senior staff networks to synergize sales and marketing activities across the company.

  • Monitor, anticipate, and forecast marketplace developments for district-scale sustainable heating and cooling.


Qualifications

What you bring:


  • Bachelors' Degree required in Earth Science disciplines such as hydrogeology, geochemistry, or engineering. Masters preferred.

  • 15+ years of relevant business experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (ATES) and Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES) projects at various locations in North America.

  • Nationally and industry-recognized expert in ATES and BTES.

  • Seller/doer with extensive knowledge of ATES, BTES, the district energy industry, and the ability to effectively communicate how those technologies can meet the sustainability goals of customers.

  • Understanding of ATES and BTES practices in Europe and how those practices translate to the North American market.

  • Demonstratable client development and technical sales success in North America.

  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrates analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and a knack for seeing opportunities where others see problems.

  • A sales network including clients who are building their brands on sustainability and carbon neutrality is a plus.

  • Professional registrations in target geographic market areas.

  • Geothermal Designer.

  • Property development, including environmental permitting, drilling, and real-estate development transaction-driven projects.

  • Working understanding of building energy systems and district energy systems.

  • Knowledge of governmental and utility incentive programs for sustainable heating and cooling (e.g., NYSERDA - New York State Energy and Research Development Authority).

  • Experience using numerical groundwater flow and heat transfer models and with GIS software and applications.

  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines and possibly calls outside of traditional US business hours.
