Job Title: Senior Regional Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager
Brief Description:
The Senior Regional HSE Manager oversees and supports all HSE activities within a region. Primary responsibilities include supporting company HSE goals and initiatives, effectively managing a Regional HSE group, and providing HSE support to the Regional Vice President of Operations. Additionally, the HSE Manager will oversee or conduct incident investigations which includes interacting with support groups, operation managers and field employees. The role is also responsible for ensuring the required coaching, teaching, and training of HSE employees in an assigned region is completed.
This position works under the direction of the Director, HSE.
Detailed Description:
Initiate and foster productive customer relationships to ensure customer needs are met consistently and in a timely manner based on standards established within the Health, Safety and Environment department
Oversee onsite inspections and audits within the region including conducting follow-up reviews to ensure the safety of personnel and proper maintenance of equipment and machinery
Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities and duties performed by HSE team members
Work with all area management to support regional and company HSE goals
Ensure the HSE department assists with New to Industry, New to Patterson, and Employee Safety Orientation training requirements
Conduct or oversee incident investigations and provide support to coordinate appropriate corrective actions based upon root cause findings
Effectively lead, manage, and develop the Regional HSE Department to drive individual performance goals and ensure overall performance aligns with Company standards and actives.
Communicate and follow-up with Area Management to ensure understanding and compliance of HSE policies and procedures
Communicate reports or findings to HSE Director and Regional or Senior Management regarding investigations findings or HSE concerns
Provide additional support and leadership as necessary to ensure personnel safety, efficiency in all operations, and customer satisfaction
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Communicate effectively with coworkers, internal and external customers, and third parties verbally and in writing
Provide leadership and management to foster a safe and effective working atmosphere
Maintain relationships with internal and external customers and other key stakeholders
Use a computer to write and read emails, and generate reports incorporating graphs
Work independently and prioritize tasks based on operational needs
Make sound and quick decisions to support all operations while maintaining a continuously safe working environment
Job Requirements:
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, using communication tools such as email, ring central and other forms of communication
Ability to perform basic math functions using a calculator
Ability to proficiently use MS Office Suite to develop reports, presentations, and email correspondences, (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalency certificate
Minimum of 4 years work experience within HSE or related equivalent function with the responsibility of managing personnel and/or a department
Eligible to drive Company vehicle including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year college degree
Additional Details:
This position requires the person to work in both office locations and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The HSE Manager will be regularly exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the drilling operations and rigs are located. The HSE Manager must work with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third parties. This person must be able to work closely with others under time-sensitive deadlines and in potential emergency response situations. The person must be willing to work extended schedules, including extra days, occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
