Job Summary:


The Division Manager - Transmission and Distribution is responsible for profit/loss of respective division. Directs all daily operations through subordinate personnel. Ensures safety of all personnel in division through active support of safety programs and initiatives. Responsible for strategic business growth within respective division. May manage Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Operations Manager and administrative functions within division.


Essential Functions:



  • Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."

  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."

  • Prepare goals, objectives, revenue projections, budgets and business plans for respective division. Maintain accountability for annual business plan and monitor and track performance in relation to plan.

  • Represent Company at bid meetings, project meetings, strategy meetings, etc. as needed. Review/approve bid packages of a set dollar amount.

  • Implement policies and operating procedures within the division in line with corporate policy.

  • Work closely with other Divisional Managers and General Managers in the coordination of projects and sharing of resources. Ensure maximum operational efficiency and productivity within the business unit as a whole.

  • Review and analyze monthly and quarterly financial results for the division and present results to senior management.

  • Monitor aged receivables on a regular basis. Ensure timely collection of monies owed the company and participate in collection activities, as needed.

  • Interview, select, hire, train, evaluate and terminate subordinate personnel. Develop goals and objectives and work with staff throughout the year to ensure goals and performance standards are achieved.

  • Work closely with Sales/Business Development in the identification, pursuit and award of business opportunities, in line with strategic objectives.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to subordinate managers on operational issues; participate as needed in the resolution of problems on projects or with clients.

  • Maintain accountability for safety within division; conduct required evaluations pursuant to Safety Accountability Program. Actively promote and support company's safety programs.

  • Maintain union relations. Represent company in negotiations, meetings, or events, as needed or required.

  • Perform additional responsibilities, as directed.


Qualifications:



  • 15+ years' experience in operations or project management and Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or 20+ years related experience without a degree PLUS proven Transmission and Distribution leadership experience.

  • Deep knowledge within the private sector Electrical Industry focused primarily on Transmission and Distribution with 15+ years of leadership experience.

  • Union Construction contractor experience highly preferred.

  • Extensive understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities.

  • Experience in strategic growth initiatives and track record of success.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction, design, finance, and project management.

  • Advanced ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, prepare complex proposals, and estimate all types and sizes of projects.

  • Excellent oral and written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.



Physical/Special Requirements:


Occasional overtime and frequent travel between field locations may be required in this position. Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds, such as files, documents and computer printouts. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at moderate skill level.
