The NCG - Software Engineer will be working with the Principal Architect and Principal Software Engineers of the Memory and Storage Strategy Division to develop software that enables cloud/hyper-scale storage solutions for some of the largest internet companies in the world.You will be responsible for development of host software consisting of reference storage solutions and software development kits for open source platforms. You work with the latest solid state storage devices and future innovative memory and storage media to enableour storage devices to thrive in a software-defined world.

Responsibilities:
This role will include working with hyper-scale internet companies, the open source industry (including theLinux Memory/Storage Sub System communities),developing and contributingour solutions which includes both software and hardware components. Software will be developed primarily in C and C++, candidates must be familiar with Linux and open source development tools including compilers, debuggers, and source control utilities. Knowledge of scripting languages and storage subsystems and kernel programming is highly desirable but not required.

• Knowledge of the C programming language


• Familiarity with Linux software development tools (compilers, debuggers, source code control)


• Familiar with open source industry and the open source community development process


• Basic knowledge of how storage systems are used by software applications


• Good written and excellent verbal communication.


• BSCS or BSCE
