The Emergency Medicine Advanced Provider (EMAP) Fellowship Riverside University Health System is a 12.5-month intensive post-graduate training program for certified PAs in the specialty of Emergency Medicine. This Fellowship is designed to train PAs in Emergency Medicine (EM), utilizing didactic and clinical experience. This education will occur under the direct supervision of Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians and highly experienced Advanced Providers. Our graduates will become highly skilled, highly competent, compassionate, and efficient emergency medicine providers.

The Opportunity
12.5 month program
2100 clinical hours in acute EM care, plus weekly lecture time
Core Emergency Department time spent: 10 months (40 weeks)
Off service rotations include:
Internal Medicine
ICU
Bedside POCUS Ultrasound Course
Specialty rotation tracks
Fellows will attend the Advanced Trauma and Life Support Course (ATLS) at RUHS
In addition to core EM content, focused training will include clinical efficiency, documentation, billing, scribe utilization, and patient throughput
Paid Fellowship, with paid time off (PTO), health insurance benefits, and paid malpractice insurance
The Practice
Riverside University Health System - Moreno Valley, California
A 439-bed hospital with a Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Fully Operating Paramedic Base Station and anticipated STEMI Center in 2021
The 38-bed Emergency Department sees 100,000+ annual ED patient visits
Offer training programs for nursing students, medical residents, and allied health professionals attending UC Riverside, Loma Linda University, Western University of Health Services, and California Baptist University

Candidate Requirements
Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program or NP program
Eligible for and/or possess current CA Medical Board Physician Assistant licensure (eligible candidates must be fully licensed by the start of the program)
Eligible for and/or possess current DEA licensure (eligible candidates must be fully licensed by the start of the program)
Current certification in ACLS and BLS
Previous EMS/ED work experience is highly desirable but not required

Qualifications
Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program
Eligible for and/or possess current CA Medical Board Physician Assistant licensure
Applicants will be considered if CA PA license is pending, but must be fully licensed by start of program
Eligible for and/or possess current DEA licensure
Applicants will be considered if eligible for DEA license, but must be fully licensed by start of program
Signed statement indicating you are eligible for DEA licensure
If you do not have a DEA license, please speak to an EMPA program representative prior to applying for one
Current certification in:
ACLS
BLS
Previous EMS/ED work experience is highly desirable but not required
