PITTSBURGH OPERATIONS
Michael Baker International's Pittsburgh Operation provides innovative consulting, architecture, engineering, planning and construction solutions serving public and private clients. The Operation consists of approximately 500 professionals including architects, engineers, planners, scientists, surveyors, technology specialists, software developers and construction inspection and management staff. The Operation is organized by Practice Area, which include Architecture, Bridge, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Construction Services, Land Development and Infrastructure, Planning and Transportation.

DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker's Pittsburgh Operation is seeking a Business Developer to join the team in our Moon Township, PA office. The position reports to the Pittsburgh Office Executive (OE). In partnership with the Office and Practice Executive(s), the successful candidate will develop and direct the strategic vision and business development plans, while engaging clients and the industry through a strong community presence focusing on Western Pennsylvania clients.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Vision and Business Development

• Partners with the Pittsburgh team to define, direct and implement the Office's strategic vision and business plan at the office, practice and market level
• Collaborates with the OE and Practice Executives to identify common clients and strategies to advance the plan objectives, as well as spearheading business development initiatives
• Oversees and manages the overall sales process for the office, including Capture Planning and administration of MSIS for project pursuits
• Supports the Practice Executives by facilitating the Go/No Go decision process to effectively manage pursuit costs and functional support resources
• Leads the office business development and marketing coordination meetings
• Schedules and coordinates the development of materials needed to facilitate the region's regular business development meetings
• Leads the Capture Planning Process on strategic opportunities
• Oversees marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and collateral materials

Client and Industry Engagement

• As a "Face of Michael Baker," arranges and attends client meetings and helps guide client's strategic direction
• Attracts and maintains substantial and successful client relationships, as well as maintains relationships with industry leaders, competitors, teaming partners and appointed officials
• Fully understands Michael Baker's capabilities and possesses the ability to sell and cross-market services
• Active involvement through attendance of conferences, seminars and other professional functions
• Identifies industry award opportunities and prepares industry award submissions with support from OE and Practice Executives
• Represents Michael Baker in Mentor-Protégé programs sponsored by our clients intended to coach, mentor and educate disadvantaged firms on successful business practices and industry engagement
• Aids in development of training/coaching material for business development and marketing
• Collaborates with Corporate Communications to coordinate and support corporate initiatives and events that take place in Pittsburgh

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree
• 10 years of related A/E Industry experience
• Distinguished track record leading, growing and expanding A/E strategies
• Proven business development track record
• Effective leadership, communications and analytical skills
• Ability to travel within the Western Pennsylvania region
• High degree of organization, be a self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
• Exemplary executive presence and poise
• Passionate, entrepreneurially oriented and devoted to significantly growing the current portfolio of business within five years
• Challenges the status quo while delivering innovative, thoughtful approaches to differentiate
• Comfortable working within a matrixed organization with keen ability to influence
