Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Directs Checker-Gauges in qualifying gauge, gauging equipment and changeover parts used on production lines. Responsible for ensuring that envelope dimension of each piece of product produced is within specifications. Coordinates gauging areas of the QS 9000 program.

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Instructs, assists, and may perform any or all the duties of the Checker-Gauges.

Performs the master recheck and sends and receives all gauging masters, calibration masters, blue blocks, based on the master recheck schedule or ISO9000 requirements.

Responsible for all QS9000 requirements involving measuring systems.

Prepares requests for reconditioning, replacement, or checking of worn parts, set-up gauges, or other expendable supplies.

Trouble shoots to determine the cause of, and takes corrective action to eliminate, gauging equipment, gauges and changeover machine parts failures.

Dismantles, repairs, reassembles, and adjusts automatic gauging equipment.

Prepares gauges, gauging equipment, and changeover parts for scheduled changeovers (Production lines changed from one part number to another).

Disassembles, examines and returns to storage, changeover parts returned from production lines.

Handles and moves materials and equipment in and about department using hand truck or by hand carrying. Keeps tools and work area clean and orderly.

Education and Experience:

3-5 years work experience in manufacturing environment or related education preferred.

Experience with quality gauging is a plus

Technical or mechanical background.

Proven record of reliable attendance, strong work ethic and team skills.

Demonstrated strong math and mechanical skills.

Must have high school or general equivalency diploma (GED)

Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
