Job Description




Nuclear Test Engineering is responsible for the maintenance and operation of several different types of equipment used in a manufacturing process. The Advanced/Senior Electrical Engineer is expected to possess technical proficiency and familiarity in the fields of instrumentation and control, data acquisition, and control software programming necessary to operate furnaces, vacuum systems and variety of other manufacturing equipment. Required tasks include trouble shooting, developing repair procedures, maintaining configuration control, preparing operating procedures and drawings, and working with outside vendors to fulfill service contract requirements. The candidate should possess a strong ability to efficiently troubleshoot complex electrical control systems to ensure failures do not impact production schedules. Innovative solutions coupled with strong working relationships will serve as the foundation to success.

Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with the research, design, development, procurement and deployment of new complex integrated control systems and equipment used for general and specialized systems. Procurement of equipment will require planning, designing, reviewing submittals and designs, participating in acceptance testing and overseeing the installation.






Required Skills



Advanced:


  • BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or

  • MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or

  • Currently or previously NPE qualified or CTE/ACRS and one year of EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or

  • Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and one year as SRE


Senior:


  • BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experience; or

  • MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or

  • Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified or EDO and two years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or

  • Three years as SRE plus Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only), or SRE qualified and six years of experience







Preferred Skills





  • Ability to program in function block language and ladder logic control software.




  • Familiar with HMI or control station software and advanced PLC programming.




  • Familiar with general computer networks and the ability to function as a domain administrator.




  • A general understanding of pressure systems, Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) loops, Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCR) functionality and vacuum systems.




  • Ability to understand mechanical and electrical integration within complex shop equipment




  • Familiar with project management principles
