Summary of Job:

On site position that plans, directs, and implements organizational safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. This includes compliance with site specific and company safety programs, practices and procedures as well as any federal, state or local laws and OSHA rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the onsite Project Supervision Team to enhance and maintain the Lee Company safety culture.

  • Will immediately stop any activity or action they deem unsafe, then work with the appropriate parties to develop a safe work plan to perform the stopped work.

  • Attends all on site safety meetings required by General Contractor. Responsible for job specific employee training and development in the areas of safety and related topics.

  • Responsible for the effective and professional communication of company safety and site-specific processes, protocols, programs, regulations and laws.

  • Responsible for the daily construction site safety inspections, completes inspection reports as applicable indicates corrective actions.

  • In compliance with environmental, federal, state and local safety laws to ensure the organization complies with all regulations, assists with the development and implementation of the construction site safety programs, company safety programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Assists in ensuring subcontractor (all tiers) compliance of safety programs, and related upstream and downstream contractual obligations.

  • Responsible for investigative process, determining causes, and documentation of site accidents and near miss incidents. To include, recommendation on corrective actions and preventive measures.    

  • Responsible for preparation of safety and accident records for submission to General Contractor and Lee Company safety managers.

Education and Experience Required:


  • Degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years construction safety experience.

  • Minimum of OSHA 30-hour construction safety awareness course

  • Working knowledge of EHS regulations and hazard control methods.

  • Demonstrate ability to conduct EHS training.

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as other applications as needed

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Individuals may need to ride or drive in a vehicle for 2 or more hours at a time depending on position.

Individuals working at an outside job site may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) and all weather conditions.

Individuals may be exposed to: cramped work spaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day.  Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.  The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places and /or hazardous equipment.  May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
