Accountant MGT at Patterson-UTI in SNYDER, Texas

Job Description:

This accountant position is responsible for the following: analysis of financial information; reconciliation of general ledger accounts; producing and recording journal entries, and various other accounting related functions and assigned job duties. The position reports directly to the Assistant Controller Management Services.

Detailed Description:
* Detailed analysis of financial information
* Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
* Adherence to internal controls as required by Company policies and procedures
* Timely generation and recording of adjusting journal entries
* Participation in the monthly and quarterly closing process
* Assist supervisors and internal business partners with other accounting functions as required
* Ability to quickly learn and gain proficiency in Company accounting systems
* Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
* Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
* Intermediate knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software
* Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure to complete work within established time parameters
* Ability to be organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects
* Strong communications and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact positively and professionally with all levels of coworkers and management
* Problem-solving and decision-making skills
* High level of organization
* Professional demeanor and adherence to ethical standards
* Proficiency with accounting and office software
* Above average communication skills, written and verbal

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
* 3+ years' accounting experience
Additional Details:
Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk, with occasional climbing stairs, lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment. The person must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines. Occasional overtime, including on evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to meet business requirements.
