Supply Chain Analyst

Job Purpose

Under limited supervision will be responsible for development and enhancement of supply chain. Negotiate strategic and tactical cost savings with existing suppliers and/or develop new supply sources. Ensure security and accountability through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review. Develops and executes replenishment strategies, conducts physical inventories & leads cycle counters. Analyzes and, when able, correct cycle count discrepancies. Conduct audits on incoming and outgoing shipments for quality & accuracy. Compiles & documents all transactions for data entry.

Nature of Duties:


  • May interface with suppliers to obtain pricing, delivery information for proposal development and/or product.

  • Requires extensive analysis of data, for example; comparing forecast to suppliers' commitment schedule to ensure parts availability for large customers/projects.

  • May be engaged in sourcing for New Products Introduction (NPI), managing first article, and transitioning to production.

  • May be responsible for analyzing the purchasing data of Engineering Change Orders (ECO's).

  • May have responsibility for identifying suppliers for disengagement and working those changes through system.

  • May purchase (place P.O.'s) for hot new ECO parts and urgent NPI programs.

  • May work on implementation and improvement of Supplier Managed Inventory (SMI) programs, conducting analysis to determine eligibility for program, creating addendums, communication and training.

  • Requires ability to compile, analyze data and prepare detailed reports documenting the cost savings and inventory reductions achieved.

  • Responsible for implementation and enhancements of Supply Chain activities for SCI.

  • Manage supply base to ensure agility goals are met.

  • Work with Global Supply Chain Management Team and plant personnel to ensure compliance on RTF and SMI EDI transactions.

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.

  • Interacts with individuals and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are implemented.

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and plans appropriately to ensure schedules/goals are met.

  • Look for process improvements, provide cost analysis as required.

  • Become knowledgeable of FAR & DFARS requirements.

  • Report inventory status, changes, and movement.

  • Prepare and provide E&O analysis on a required basis.

  • Inventory analysis, tracking, & projects. Create management reports.

  • Lead cycle count preparation, execution, analysis & reconciliation on a daily basis, focusing on continuous improvement on CC strategy, as well as Root Cause/Corrective Action analysis.

Job Qualifications


  • Result and action oriented; Ability to meet aggressive deadlines.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; must be able to communicate with suppliers and multiple levels throughout the organization.

  • Experience developing supplier relationships and obtaining cost reductions.

  • Must demonstrate imitative and have the ability to work on multiple tasks.

  • Oracle or SAP experience required

  • Proficient in MS Office suite

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience
