Job Description Summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Control Coordinator for its Edgewood Precast Facility.  The successful candidate will report to the Regional Engineering Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the daily QC functions including process inspections, final product inspections, scheduling of support personnel, reporting on quarterly basis to management team with respect to processes improvements, repetitive mistakes, junk items, and other quality concerns.  The position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of Quality Control functions included, but not limited to the following: 

Job Duties

•    Pre-pour inspection checks on products as required

•    Post-pour inspection checks on products as required

•    Corrective Action Reports for nonconforming product

•    Monitor production operations and reporting of deficiencies as required 

•    Daily wet tests for concrete production pours

•    Material gradation testing as necessary 

•    Concrete compression tests 

•    Continuous Improvement Initiatives

•    Record keeping of quality documents, reports, inspections, etc.

•    Maintain calibration and maintenance of lab equipment as required

•    Maintain NPCA and DOT certifications

•    Establish and maintain close relationship with DOT inspectors and auditors 

 

Requirements/Skills

•    3-5 years previous experience in Construction Industry as inspector or general laborer, Precast experience preferred

•    Previous experience managing team or quality control technicians 

•    High school diploma or G.E.D., higher education a plus

•    2-Year Technical College or Degree or equivalent hands on building materials experience 

•    Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings 

•    Understanding of basic math and geometry

•    Ability to use a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office Products or similar programs 

•    Excellent organization and communication skills 

•    Self-motivated and strong ability to take initiative

•    ACI Field Testing Certification Level 1 - Highly desired or ability to obtain in 3 mo.

•    ACI Laboratory Testing Technician Level 1 - Highly desired or ability to obtain in 3 mo.

•    NPCA PQS Level I and II Certifications - Highly desired or ability to obtain in 3 mo.
